Everybody loves a good deal and “tax-free weekend” is the perfect time to stock up on athletic gear and sporting goods for the entire family. Here’s a guide to help you understand what is eligible under the sales tax-free weekend in Tennessee.
When is tax-free weekend in Tennessee?
Tax-free weekend for Tennessee residents occurs annually, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on the last Friday in July. the last weekend of July. The 2016 tax-free holiday weekend begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 29 and ends Sunday, July 31 at 11:59.
That means you will be able to take advantage of this sales holiday at Breakaway starting:
- Friday, July 29 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, July 30 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday, July 31 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
What is tax-free at Breakaway Running?
The items that are tax-exempt at Breakaway include running clothes and apparel that cost $100 or less per item. This includes:

- Running Shirts

- Running Pants
- Running Socks

What is NOT tax-free at Breakaway Running?
In short, items not listed above are not exempt from a tax break. *That means if a pair of running shoes cost more than $100, then they are not tax-exempt.
